My info may be somewhat dated, but I thought the largest set of steel wheels available were 15", which was OK at one point, but I thought the newer models needed 16" wheels?
I always ran Hakapalitta (sp?) studless tires on my 2000 9-5 SE and *really* liked them a lot. I never found the lack of studs to be an issue, and not having to listen to the added noise that studs make is an added bonus. My new car will have the Saab winter package tires, so we'll have to wait a few months for the review on how they perform.
Definitely get 4! You will be amazed, and impressed, at how well it handles.
...of course, we hope that winter is a LONG way in the distance....
