Mixed opinions on the 1999 Saab 9-5

I've spent the better part of the day research the above listed sedan (not wagon) since I found one for a reasonable price in our local paper from an independent seller, not a dealership. Anyhow, the majority of what I found was positive, in fact, raving - until I hit this site - and now I'm feeling a bit disallusioned.
The deal is as follows:
SAAB 9-5 TURBO - 1999, black, 65k, like new. 5 spd. luxury pkg., leather seats, CD, all pwr., 1 owner, cost $30,500. $8,100.
I'm OK with putting some $ into a car for normal wear-and-tear kinds of stuff (tires, timing belts, high mileage part failures, etc...) but it is sounding from the threads I've browsed on this board that the issues with this model generally go beyond that.
Is this just because people here tend to vent more than they brag? That people generally come on here only when they need advice and not to give positive feedback? Or are these things truly money traps that I should just walk away from?
Thanks in advance!
