a 9-5 wagon would be my first choice, if I wanted/needed a wagon. I had a '99 from new to 95k. It was a very nice wagon, and quite functional. None of your other choices would measure up near the Saab in my opinion.
"Budget" throws a whole new spin on the subject. I would suggest a 9-5 would be a "budget-buster". Based on my experience with a 9-5 in particular and Saabs in general, be prepared for costly repairs regularly!Besides the $$$, the trips to the Saab Doc are time consuming. I enjoyed "hanging out" and really considered it "recreational"...but it takes time and money.
My life changed suddenly when I was given a 3 month old grandson to raise ( nearly 22 mos now), and I no longer can afford the luxury of a Saab, or two, or three! I still have the last one..but I should sell it too. One day, I'll be back...if the Saab "life" still abounds.
My advise to you would be to folllow the real Saab way...form follows function. What do you really need to accomplish with this wagon?? What are your real "budget" constraints.
Hope you can swing a Saab, its a blast!
Chris
'06 Infiniti M35 15k/7 mos awesome, nearly flawless--but NOT a Saab
'05 Mazda3 hatch 21k wife's, perfect so far, and a blast to drive..but tight on space
'88 SPG 151k incredible for 19 years..only a Saabnut would have paid all the repairs/services to keep him going....needs a new home
