If you read some of my posts in the past I've occasionaly signed the bottom of the post as "cheaptech" instead of dtech.
But except for warranty I've done almost 100% of service on my Saabs and other cars for over 30 yrs. I'll occasionaly post to advise people of more inexpensive ways to maintain or fix their cars, and I'd wager that my annual operating cost are among the lowest of any saab owners.
But I'm always amazed how many people accept higher cost and/or poor service and are afraid to speak up, but then again sometimes I wish I could just take my car to the dealer and say fix the friggin thing without carrying about the cost.
And I once lived in Pennsylvannia where people are accustomed to and do get ripped off at the annual auto safety inspections, they meekly take their cars in and accept their fate kinda like the Time Machine where those people just marched through the doors to be eaten by the Moolocks.
