good and bad Posted by bobc [Email] (#473) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bobc) on Tue, 31 Oct 2006 21:17:57 In Reply to: Re: first step ..., Tom, Tue, 31 Oct 2006 18:25:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Well it is good that there are no ACC codes. that means all of the mechanical parts of the heat mixture, direction, and blending are working.
So it would seem to me that the problem is a genuine lack of heat at the heater core.
you mentioned that the coolant level was ok, and the the temp guage registered ok. This indicates that the coolant in the engine is warming up properly and there are no leaks.
you also indicate that you replaced the heater bypass valve.
So it seems that you have addressed all of the common failure points, so the bad is that you may have an "unusual case"
you did not mention replacing the thermostat, which is a culprit in low heat situations. Although our description of the temp guage (rises to target temp and remains steady) does not indicate the t-stat.
when you say "no heat" do you mean that the temp of the air is cool? or do you meant that the air is warm but directed out of the wrong vents?
