before having it shut off, some things to think about.. When i went to do mine i asked a friend who is an insurance agent and he gave me some advise:
first if you pourposly disable your alarm and your car (heaven forbid) were to get stolen, your insurance company would be very reluctant to give you anything for it. they consider it almost like aiding and abetting, or insurance fraud. the second thing to think about, at least with my insurance, i get a good discount on it for having an alarm. if i turned it off and they found out, no more discount. the alarm module i put in will pay for its self over the next few months and then continue to save me money. and it took 10 min from wheel off to wheel on to do the job.
