Mine has been reminding me on my 99 for almost a year now, guess I should mess with it before it goes off in the middle of the night.
If you really don't want to mess with it get it turned off with tech 2. I would bet 1mil to 1 that if it happened to get broken into or stolen you insurace co is not going to check to see if the alarm works(and has nothing to do with the chip in your key) 2nd as far a rates go you do have an alarm, you do not have to disclose that it is not hooked up or turned on. The same is true on my house. They ask if I have an alarm. answer yes...... They do not ask if you have a service plan with the alarm or if you set the alarm.
