Ok, I know the flames are going to start with my reply...

If you are changing at 5k, then Mobil 1 (or any other premium synthetic) is perfectly acceptable.

Im sure someone will disagree, but I have never seen any hard evidence that Amsoil is better than M1 (please dont post with "my car has 452,000 with no problems" as evidence, Im talking some sort of standardized testing method). Until I see an SAE (or ANSI, or API, or NIST) test of multiple oils by an independent lab not being paid by an oil manufacturer, the jury will be out on "which oil is best" (same goes for filters). Up until this point in the history of the internet, everyone has relied on anecdotal data for a basis of opinion...
