Hello all,
My wife and I drive from Calgary to Las Vegas down I 15 a couple of times a year in our 2000 V6 9-5 wagon. Usually the drive is relaxed, and the car has never let us down. We cruise hours on end at 75 mph. This time, in southern Utah on the return trip, we cut out into the left lane to pass a semi going about 60-65 mph. As we were about even with the front of his trailer he moved over into our lane, forcing us on to the shoulder. I think he fell asleep. Now the car was on the gravel at about a 30 degree slope, and throwing rocks all over. I was lucky, and somehow managed to keep my cool, and floored the gas to get out of his way. The Saab was stable, and performed brilliantly! We pulled in front of him, showering his cab with rocks. This woke him up, he straightened his rig out, and fell back. It was only afterwards that I started to shake. It reminded me of why I bought the Saab in the first place. All the car has to do is save your life once, and it is worth every nickel it cost.
