I can report through direct personal experience that the ETrailer part #36286 hitch fits perfectly on my 2006 9-5 wagon. I just installed it last week. I was told directly by the ETrailer sales staff that they didn't make a hitch for a 9-5 beyond 2003 or 2004. I went ahead a took a chance and ordered it anyway, because I couldn't imagine Saab changing the mounting points. Sure enough, I was right.
Tip for fitting the mounting bolts into the frame: Thread a piece of wire through the hitch hole and the frame hole and then out of the access hole. Use electrical tape to secure the wire to the threaded end of the bolt. Pull the wire and the bolt will follow into the frame and through the mounting hole. Remove the tape while holding the bolt by the threads, and secure the nut.
Next on my list is the wiring. I considered the $130 Saab factory wiring harness, but it looks awfully complicated. It snakes all the way up to under the dash to make its connections, and it comes with a giant 10-pin connector. I just need the basic 4-pin deal. I have a generic U-Haul unit that worked fine on my old 900T, so I'm going to try to re-use it with wire taps into the rear light cluster wiring.
