to go to something with a warrenty, that cost him, if I did my math right, almost nothing. A spectra is almost a hundai sonata, and those are nice, roomy, Nothing compared to a saab, but a sonata was actually was going to be my car before i found my saab. If I had to do it over again, I would get the saab. But if you want a car you can just drive and drive, and you don't care about ENJOYING the drive, then a hundai/kia is the way to go. Cheap, and they work. Because they are more simple, there is less to break (no dic, no turbo, etc). They are comfortable enough for longer drives. My uncle has one, and has had it now just over 8 years, and has almost 200k mi on it. and that is all he does, drive, and other than regular matinance, there have been no major repairs needed to be done to it. now ask him if he enjoys it, he compares it to eating flavorless jello. but it gets him where he needs to go. (his other car is a BMW 5 series, which is only taken out on special occasions) but for racking up the miles, he went with cheap.
