Oil Question, Hoping Not to Restart Endless Debate...!

I bought my 1999 9-5 2.3 lpt from its' original owner at about 65K miles. I'm headed to 130K miles and need some oil advice. At first, I ran Mobil 1 15W-50 per the original owner's hand written notes in the spec section of the owner's manual. Thought this to be OK for stop and go traffic Wash DC summers, but switched to a thinner Mobil 1 for the rest of the year and possible better mileage with a thinner oil. Finally read through a lot of SaabNet posts and decided to switch to Mobil 1 10W-40 and not 10W-30. Now, all I can find is this Mobil 1 10W-40 grade in extended mileage/older car formulation for $1 more per quart! I'm not sure the API ratings of this new formulation are up to the same specs for turbocharged engines as before. I don't really want to pay more per quart for supposedly extended performance (10,000 mile?) oil that I want to change as usual at 3,000 - 4,000 miles. Is my usual retailer (Advance Auto) not stocking the usual Mobil 1 stuff, or am I gonna hafta pay more for extended use oil that I don't want to use more than my regular anti-sludge mileage limit? Or is it an intentional money making idea from Mobil? Whaddya think?
