Your 99 is likely to be among the models that used the old and often leaky style of fuel tank. The presure sensor pedistal tends to fail and allow the venting of fuel fumes. Expect to get the 'check engine' light soon - may start with a minor leak code and progress to a major evap leak.
After some trial and error I've had great luck with my epoxy repair - using light aircraft fuel tank sealant. But it's a messy job...
Search on the topic and you'll find much more.
Good Luck,
Scott
