Where's the mass air sensor?

I found the nice step-by-step DIY instructions with photos for replacing the fuel pump. I'm guessing the mass air sensor is simpler and cheaper to replace, so I'll probably start by weeding that out. Could someone describe what exactly it does and where it's located so I can try to swap it out? Are there similar detailed DIY instructions someplace? Thanks.
