Went away this weekend with the 9-5 SE wagon (90 K miles) . Although the ambient temperature was relatively cool, 75-80, the ACC system would not blow any colder than 80 deg at the dash vent. This system has always performed flawlessly, until now.

Suspected low freon. Upon return, I checked the sight glass on the drier, semed low, only half full of liquid. So, I added more 134 freon, until glass was almost full (90%), still no cooling.

The a/c compressor clutch functions, the liquid line to the condensor gets hot, the fans cycle, but there is no apparent coolng effect.

No error codes from diagnostic. Heater blows hot when the temperature control is raised, but will not cool when the temp is reduced to "LO".

The a/c system seems to load/slow the engine when engaged, but does NOT cool.

Any thoughts? Clogged evaporator valve? Disintegrated receiver/drier?
