I've used Zimmerman and Brembo (both cross-drilled and standard) on my old 9000 AERO with good results both times. In May I did a 4 wheel DIY brake job on my 2003 AERO using cross-drilled rotors form http://www.r1concepts.com ($280 total) and Akebono pads from http://www.tirerack.com ($164 total).
I have to say this is by far the best combination I've experienced. Absolutely NO brake fade, damn near NO brake dust and this past weekend while washing the car, there is no visible wear on the rotors. You can still see the cross-cut marks from the "turning" process!!! I do approx 30k/year, mostly freeway though a fair amount of city driving here in Los Angeles and these are a life saver without being noisy.
If you don't go with the rotors, get nothing other than the Akebono pads.
I hope this helps Jay.
