Those crazy platinum plugs are most likely what's giving you a CEL. ONLY use the plugs specified in the book. They should be NGK BCPR6ES-11's. Saab's engine computer gets a lot of information from the DI cassette which gets readings from the spark plugs. They're specifically calibrated to use those specified plugs. When I was at the dealer getting my plugs commenting on how inexpensive they were (for a Saab) this is what they told me. He said that people who insist on using expensive platinum plugs have all sorts of problems with the way the engine runs and the check engine light. Search the board too; there are tons of people with similar experiences to yours.
