The others are correct use the proper NGK plugs only.
But that dosen't explain why you can't read the code. And without the codes you don't know the whole story.
Can you read live data with your scanner?
Can you tell your scanner to erase the code, even if it does not read one?
I'm wondering if you have a bent pin on the OBDII connector. or a faulty ECU.
