When was the last time you.... Posted by Johnson [Email] (#3237) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Johnson) on Fri, 2 Nov 2007 22:23:25 In Reply to: 9-5 Fuel consumption, Nigel, Fri, 2 Nov 2007 15:16:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Checked the gap in your spark plugs or replaced them, changed the fuel filter, changed the air filter, threw in a bottle of techron, air pressure in tires(as the colder weather kicks in the pressure in tires will automaticaly drop)?
You didn't mention which model year you have, total miles, if it was used etc. I have a MY99 se lpt, one of the things I notice, is I have to clean my K&N air filter regularly (I drive in some VERY dusty places) and if I leave it too long my mpg will slowly degrade, and when I clean my air filter my mpg will jump 2-3 almost instantly.
also do you carry a lot of stuff in your car, in the trunk?
a few months ago I let my little bro borrow my car for a few days while his was in the shop, and he teaches CPR and had left a bunch of his dummies mats and stuff in the back seat/truck of the car. It was several hundred pounds worth of stuff, and I was suprised to see the difference it made in my mpg before I could get his stuff back to him.
