I went from a 2001 Honda Accord EX to a 2004 Saab 9-5 Aero 5-spd sedan. This was our second Saab 9-5, the first being a 2003 9-5 Linear sportwagon with an automatic transmission.
The 2003 wagon was an absolute disaster. It had numerous problems, many of which simply couldn't be fixed to my satisfaction. Every issue you read about on these boards happened in that car.
The 2004 sedan, on the other hand, has been flawless. I absolutely love it, and there is simply no comparison to the Honda. I think Saabs are wonderful cars, but be sure to buy one that has had all the proper maintenance done, and make sure you check the service history for any other issues, like transmission problems.
If you find a good 9-5, you won't regret the switch.
Good luck with your decision.
