Replaced the timing belt - now won't start

Tonight I finished reassembling the motor (99 V6) after my timing belt failure I described in an earlier posting. After finishing putting it together it won't start.
It cranks over nicely, but there isn't a hint of a spark or wanting to start, it just cranks. I did put new plugs in it, the same as the original NGK's, and the ignition modules are connected, and there are no open vacuum ports.
One thing I thought of, is lacking the special tool to attach to the crank for positioning it, I left the harmonic damper on and used the notch on the rim as the TDC mark. I assembled it in accordance with Anders drawing and had the notch at 6 o'clock position. It rolled over smoothly by hand, so I'm sure I have not hit a valve. Could I have assembled it 180 degrees out of phase?
