I share the interstate bias (Mega-Tron/Plus). The darn things have just worked reliably for many years (used in WI/MI) Although there are undoubtedly other perfectly fine choices it was experience with other brands that lead me to be faithful to Interstate. Then for some reason I once again tried another brand about 10 years ago, after doing the research, that was supposedly better rated and was higher spec than the Interstate option for that car and was I ever disappointed.
Things to look for? Look at some of the guides on batteries for general tips if your interested but basically just find one properly sized and recommended for your vehicle and don't get too obsessed about the numbers. Try to get a relatively fresh battery.
BTW - To my knowledge Saab or Saab USA used Interstate only as replacement batteries (and then likely only in North America or US) probably b/c a North American supplier made sense for such a replacement item. For many years Saab used Varta as OE from the factory. Not sure today who makes the OE batteries. However, Varta and Interstate are connected, at least in recent years, in the sense that Johnson Controls either acquired or makes batteries for Varta in Europe. Interstate batteries are made by Johnson Controls.
