(I know this is an ancient thread, but I couldn't help myself...)
The story on the deletion of the cornering lights as I got it was very interesting, and an object lesson in the "Typical" American Car Owner...
Saab thought that they were doing a good thing putting the conering light in the same housing as the fog light. They moved it from the turn cluster where it was on C900s, 99s, and early 9000s.
But no good deed goes unpunished...
See, People would be driving their cars, with the turn signal on, and the one cornering light was on. Now, to the knowledgeable Saab owner, this is as it should be. But to the uninitiated observer, it looks like you have one fog light OUT...
So, folks would bring their car to the dealer complaining of a bad foglight, and either get it fixed, or a kind explanation of what's going on. But, they'd end up back at the dealer the next time a "good samaritan" notices the "burned out" light...
So, in order to a) save warranty repair dollars, and b) improve the overall "reliability score" of the car, the bulbs were deleted along with the "feature" of cornering lights...
