Did you try the wire splice? Any success?

I used to get 30 -40 foot range with my remote in my 2001 Aero. Recently that has dropped to multiple attempts at 2-5 feet. I haven't replaced my remote battery yet, but was curious if you had any luck just adding antenna wire?

Anyone else try this?
