check the hoses going to the intercooler I had a small slit in one where it bent around to the intercooler made a whooshing noise too no check engine no major power lose, but when I duct taped it to keep small grime out it turned into an ugly whistle lol. fixed the day after. hope that helps, if the hooter valve bosch valve is blown usually the engine will stall or rpm would drop real low after going from boost to no boost, at least thats what mine did when it failed.
now if you blow the hose off the turbo to intercooler you will get a check engine and a real back buck going 70 down the highway I also know about this...happend on my way to work on hwy 75 into richarson, have burn scars from the turbo as a reminder where my nomex gloves stopped above my wrist.
I knew if I sat there someone would kill me in the morning commute to Dallas lol.
