Thanks, Anders.
I called the dealer and they want $100 plus tax ($109.25) to read the codes. That makes it pretty attractive to just take the chance at $160 to rebuild the controller since it's a high failure item anyway.
I know intermittent problems are hard to chase down, but is there a way to test the wheel sensor at a component level?
Just out of curiosity, on my 850 and V70, I at least got a generic speed sensor error, or missing vehicle speed signal (still not specific enough to identify the specific component) when the ABS light and CEL came on.
I had thought that the generic reader would pick up on any system error, but that it would just give a generic code. Sounds like your saying that there might be Saab specific codes that the generic reader would not report at all. If that's the case is it also true for my Volvos?
