It depends...
Though, about the only thing that having the dealer has going for it is they can make the entry into Saab's system so, should you ever want to sell it, the fact shows up on the IRIS report...
As far as I know, regardless of the rest of the warrantee, the "free" belt at 60k is good at +- 1500 miles or so (maybe more, maybe less...).
But, the ONLY thing that covers is the belt & labor to change that. The problem with this is that the ancillary components to the timing belt will give up the ghost soon after, still leaving you with a $6000 head replacement.
You also need to change the belt tensioner, and the pulleys or "guide rollers" that the belt rolls on. The good thing is that 90% of the labor for these is done with the belt swap, so it's just a matter of a minimal amount of added labor, plus the parts.
I (and my indy mechanic...) would also recommend changing the water pump at this point. particularly on an 8 year old car. I had him change it on my 2002 back in February along with the timing bits. The water pump isn't driven by the timing belt, but if the pump seals go bad, coolant can get on the belt, and potentially slip it a tooth or more, if not do worse things. My mechanic had this happen to him. And again, most of the labor to change the pump is done to change the belt.
Best idea would be to get an estimate from both.
You probably can get a better deal at an indy mechanic, just make sure they know Saabs...
