REPOST... OOPS, forgot my name and thread will expire from 1st message of which this is a copy!

Interesting information about the crayola smell.. thought it may be melting electronics or something worse?? was overbearing at first, but was closed up when we first got in and have had windows/moon roof open lately.. you'd think after 9 ish years the offgas smell from interior would have stopped? I guess I will have to get used to it..

Great info/lead for the WIS manual.. have been looking on ebay for one and for $23 - $60 can't be sure if is original or pirated or? For free ya take what you get and hope it is fully complete? Do you/anyone know if the Haynes printed manual offers any good info for a good backup and/or workbench supplement to the WIS?? I am definately going to check that link out..

I found a few loose plastic parts/missing screws rattling around under there with the I4 just a shaking at idle.. will secure em and ck the sound after... but I will also ck the tensioner as I do routine maint update checks to see what life is left in it and like the idea of possibly rolling in a new chain if replacement is necesary or close enough to necessary.. slick info..

I may try the DIY SID fix first and if no go,,, for $90 will be $$ well spent.. hate not seeign what messages are there of other info on the display.. a clock would be nice!

Hmmmm... It did appear to read "Service" something on the display after the ding? if the theft alarm is the only SID message with Service in the title, you may have nailed it!.. I shall find out soon..

Thanks much for the helpful info I can put to use.. hoping for many more miles from this nice riding newbie..
