My dad, 61, likes to say the speed limit posted is the MAXimum, NOT the minimum. NJ Turnpike is 65mph? Go 62, it is safer.
He doesn't realize he can play traffic cop all he wants in his early 80s Buick Park Avenue. But when driving my tin can ford focus the last 7 years, "flow of traffic" is safer than the posted speed limit (most of the time). I feel a little safer going slower in my 9-5 wagon, if that makes any sense, also nice to know if somone tailgates me on the road cuz he thinks station wagon's are pushovers, i can usually leave him in the dust if I wanted to. :)
