I have a 2000 Aero and just installed my AudioTroll last week. Here are the issues I have with it.
When using the data connector, there is a slight distortion to the sound. The volume coming out of the speakers is the same as the radio or CD, but there is a mild distortion there. When using the 1/8" plug with the I-pod volume all the way up, the volume coming out of the speakers is actually a bit louder, but there is no distortion at all.
The other issue is lock-ups. My radio does lock up sometimes. I think about 5 times total since Wed the 18th. I have to restart the car to reset the radio. Turning the radio off with the volume knob doesn't work.
What happened this morning when I was driving home from work was very frustrating. Using the data connector, the song title would show up on the SID, but it wouldn't scroll. It would just show the beginning of the title. After a while, the title would go away, and it would revert back to the "CD1 Play 99". If I hit NXT to bring up the title again, the title wouldn't appear.
I'm glad to have the ability to hook up my I-pod, but it's a little buggy.
For the most part I'll just use the 1/8" plug since this is the most trouble free.
