I know I've been bugging the board a lot about this lately, but I'm curious. Please help. In the summer when it's hot my temp gauge spikes after I shut the car off. I have an appt with my indy next week for some diagnostic work. The car used to run a little warm when it was actually running when it was hot out and I had the A/C on, but I couldn't get the needle to move today on my 90 degree drive home romping on the gas up a long hill with A/C on. It's gotta be either radiator or thermostat related so we're going to check out both. My indy (A+ Saab expert) has never heard of this happening on a Saab before, and neither have many on this board. I know it's normal for ALL cars to warm up after coolant stops flowing, but do they get hot enough to move the needle this much? So I am asking, if it's hot as hell where you live sometime soon, can someone drive a little extra hard with the A/C on the last 3 minutes home and shut your car off? Then sit there for 2 or 3 minutes and just turn the key back to ON, not start. See what the temp gauge does? I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.
