We purchased the snow tire/wheel combo from the dealer when we got our new 9-5 Aero in the spring of 2005. Goodyear Ultra-Grips mounted on 16 inch Saab (BBS, I think) 5 spoke alloy wheels. I can't remember what the price was, but I think it was less than $900 for the package. They have been great so far (3 winters). We tend to have more packed snow and ice here in ND than deep snow and slush.
I would also look at Nokians when the Goodyears wear out. I have used TireRack in the past, but now prefer to buy locally.
John.
