Recently my 2000 9-5 SE V6 wagon developed some interesting electrical gremlins.

The symptoms are:

* The SID does not illuminate. When the car is running, you can see that the LCD pixels are working, but there's no backlight. Also, the SID's clock resets to 12:00 each time the car is started.
* The rear hatch unlocking solenoid does not operate, either from the remote or from the driver's door button.
* The fuse for the rear hatch is blown. Replacing it causes it to blow violently the moment you insert the new fuse, even with the ignition key not present in the car.
* I found that the rear driver's-side door courtesy light was dangling loose from the door and had apparently been smashed. The bulb was missing and the plastic is bent. (I hear you saying, "well, duh, there's your problem." I know...) There's no visible damage to the wiring harness. The insulation is intact, well back into the door panel. The light bulb is long gone.

Okay, so it's almost certainly that light fixture... but before I go off to the dealership to get parts, is there anything ELSE that I should be checking here? Any common point-of-failure on this circuit that causes a short? Any wagon equivalent to the trunk wiring harness problem?
