Keep in mind that even with the 'right' tool, your radio may not budge.
I bent the bejeezus out of the DIN tool (Wal-Mart Scosche version) trying to get the radio to come out. It wasn't because the tool was cheap, it was because the connectors in back had a death grip on the radio.
Removing the radio was the hardest part of removing my dash as a whole. I ended up having to remove the SID first and then reaching in to push the radio out from behind (along with using the DIN tool to compress the latches).
From what I have read, it is hit-and-miss whether yours will come out with just the tool or not. Be prepared for it to be stuck in there though.
