01 95 Aero TB / belt problems

I bought a 95 Aero last fall and put about 15,000 miles on it so far so it's up to ~150K. Hadn't found this site and realized all of the general maintenance/problems with these cars until a few days ago when this trouble started. On the highway the other day the CEL came on and the TCS off light came on, and cruise wouldn't work. Had no idea what it was til I got to Autozone and they read the code, which said something about fuel at slow idle (p1230). After reading on here I figured it must be the throttle body, so I bought one from bba reman and installed it, unplugged the neg terminal for 30 seconds and started the car. The lights were still on though, so I went to Autozone to reset the codes. Got them reset put they came back on about 20 miles later. About 5 miles after that I lost my belt! I've read about pulley problems on here so I just went ahead and bought the top idler pulley and the belt tensioner (I'm skipping the other tensioner and going with the short belt route). However, none of the pulleys seem to be spinning with any problem, so I don't really know why the belt went (I guess I'm hoping it was a completely random and unrelated failure to the TB). I'm waiting on the parts to get in so I can put the belt back on and then try to address the TB problem further.
Does anybody know of any consequence of the TB problem that could cause the belt failure? Or am I just lucky enough to have both of these randomly happening at the same time?
