I worked with Saab back when they were Saab and left shorlty after the GM purchase! in my opinion GM has destroyed Saab. the 9000 was the last true Saab. Saab was a Unique car like nothing else on the road. Luckly GM kept the 4cyl, but then make some changes to it in the 900 9-3's which make it less bullet proof. I understand in 2000 they went back to the Saab specs but the again added input to it and now we have the sludge issues! and cheap parts. in the late 80's and early 90's we had very little warrenty work on Saabs, the new 900 was introduced then we had warrenty like crazy! Cheap quality parts, interior issues etc.. I do like my 01 9-5 Aero and GM has finally stepped up some of their quality, but Geeze you can take a nice 94 Aero and stack it up against any New GM car today and it will hold it's own. or worste yet, I have a 1986 Porsche 944 turbo, with 100k on it. and other then it does not have ABS and Airbags, that car can still be compared to anything on the road today. even for a 86 it has a top notch quality interior, quality auto climate control, great performance (yea it's slighlty modified)yet I get 32-34mpg highway 16-24 town depending on my foot, even today it has good style. most of these cars are now on the race track which also tells you something. it took GM 20 years to catch up, finally the Corvette is almost comparable, the 86 944T still rides better and handles better! who cares about straight line times!
so if GM sells Saab it can only be good things down the road. it can't get worse
