My cousin hit a deer pretty well this past fall, actually the dear sorta hit her, haha. Anyway her 2003 Jetta took about $6500 in damage to the hood, driver side front fender, front bumper, driver door, and one of the headlights. Of course once they had all the body work done the headlight that wasn't replaced with 75k miles on it looked like sh*t next to the new one. They were ready to order a new $300 headlight but seeing as she works at the dealership where the body shop did all the work they offered to try some "new" magical treatment on the lens and it looks like NEW! Not sure what they did but if it's important to you I bet you could find a body shop that knows what's up. I'm thinking it's common that people go in for that now that most cars have plastic head lights that crap up after 50k miles.
