This is the final winter for my Nokian RSI's

This is the 4th winter for my RSI snow tires on my '01 9-5 wagon. They have been superb. Last spring I needed new summer tires but didn't really want to shell out the money for them, so I kept the RSI's on for the warm weather. Well, now I'm paying the price...there is a definite decrease in performance in the deep slushy snow, which is to be expected with the shallower tread. Ice performance seems to be fine. By being cheap I'll be in for two new sets of tires in '09 instead of getting a 5th season out the RSI's next year.
C'est la vie. I'm thinking of just switching to the Nokian WRG2 for year-round use next year due to less miles being put on the car. I'll sell off my 15" steel wheels at that time too.
If anyone is still snow tire shopping, I recommend the RSI's without reservation. Nokian now has a successor to them, the R, which is likely even better.
