I just replaced my front pads and rotors on my 02 Aero SW. After much research on TSN and elsewhere, I opted for Zimmerman smooth rotors (German made) and Akebono Euro ceramic pads. I believe the Akebono pads are now OEM on newer Saabs. I bought both through my local Car Quest parts store using my indy's discounted price. I actually saved a few bucks (with indy price) versus buying on-line and if something goes wrong with the parts its a much easier and quicker return/exchange. So far so good -- and NO BRAKE DUST. My front rims are actually staying silver. A little adjustment on my part going from the OEM pads and rotors to the ceramics but after a couple drives I can't tell the difference anymore. BTW, I had 48,400 miles on the original pads/rotors. Both inboard pads were nearly toast but the outboards were still good. My indy checked everything and couldn't determine why the inboard pads wore faster than the outboard. Maybe its just a case of it is what it is. I also flushed the brake fluid and replaced with Bilstein DOT 4. As for the rears, didn't do a thing to them, pads and rotors were in fine shape. Good luck and Happy New Year to all.
