Been there, done that.. Yep, overpriced OEM peeling badges are not a quality product. The clear overlay decal might be great as a prevention, but you usually don't see the damage until it's all ready flaking off. I had found a source on E-Bay for a vinyl jelly insert that sticks like crazy onto the existing badge and looks pretty good from not so far a distance. The trick is to get it positioned exactly right within the perimeter ridge of the emblem. They seem to be cut exactly right to size. I'll have to see if I can locate the supplier from Greece. He quit E-Bay. This solution beats trying to pry the badge off the car and scratch the paint. I tried all the tricks - prying with a putty knife and padding, dental floss to cut the double stick foam underneath, etc. Mine were welded on!! Stay tuned.
