EMBLEM / BADGE PEELED - AGAIN!!! They never fixed this?

Hi Folks,
I now own my 6th SAAB, a 2004 9-5 Aero. The paint on the SAAB hood emblem peeled off, just like on every other SAAB I've owned before it (All others being model years 2000 or prior). SAAB never got around to making a more resistant emblem? I never even take my cars to carwashes, to avoid such a thing from hapening, only hand washing them myself with a low presure hose. I must have spent over $300 on replacement badges on these cars, and now, my '04 with the newer desing emblem, exhibits the same problem. Is this still happening say on '08 models?
It's like the DI cassettes, or SID displays. It seems like they just won't get around to improving what they know to be faulty. I love these cars, but these small irritants make me believe there is little respect for the consumer. Unfortunately, I am addicted. Ah well. Any solutions to this emblem problem, besides leaving them a dull, shameful silver?
Sorry for the ranting!
Rick
