I recommended those drivers because there was a true crossover network. That then must be external. Speakers with only a tiny capacitor are not going to do things right. I then upgraded the electrolytic caps in the external crossover networks to metalized polypropylene. The tweeter's can can be a film and foil type or the metalized cap can have a small film and foil cap bypassing it. This does improve resolution. It might be distortion that you do not like. If the source material is flawed, all shall be revealed. With the cap upgrades vocals really opened up! I found the result to be very much worth the effort and repeated the mod with the other Saab.
When caps cause distortion, energy is stored and released [which is normal], but released at the wrong time.
I just modified 7 speakers in a home theater setup using metalized caps for the woofer sections and metalized film for the tweeter section. I replaced 5 iron core inductors with copper foil air core inductors.
