Replaced Rear Shocks....Were They OK? Posted by Joe [Email] (#444) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Joe) on Sun, 8 Mar 2009 17:52:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I replaced the rear shocks on my 99 2.3, 178K. From the records I have it appears they were original. Two shops that did estimates on the body damage commented it needs rear shocks/struts. The job wasn't bad at all, except for the upper nut, ended up cutting it off.
Anyway, I was playing around with the old one and the new one off the car and I couldn't tell any difference in how they acted, pressure to push them down, how they re-extended after being compressed etc. Is this not a valid test or is it possible the ones I removed were not really bad? Just curious....
