There are a couple ways... Posted by Larry West [Email] (#1140) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Larry West) on Tue, 24 Mar 2009 11:30:02 In Reply to: key/fob for 02 SAAB '95, jimiod, Tue, 24 Mar 2009 07:05:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
First, and most expensive, is to simply buy the whole thing from a dealer. In the US, the cut part of the key would cost about $35-$40, then the electronic "guts" of the key would cost you about $100-$150, and finally, programming all your keys to the car, figure on an hour of labor (and yes, it won't take a tenth of that time), to the tune of about $110...
Or, you can get the "key" part from the dealer (best way...), and you'll have to hunt about for others selling their keys on ebay or other auction site that have the electronic guts in them. Swap the guts to your newly cut key from the dealer (don't forget fresh batteries!), and have them programmed to your 9-5.
Follow the link below, and you'll see some more information. I've posted a couple times on this topic.
Word of advice: keep getting keys & remotes until you have the full set of 4, and have them all programmed to the car. That way, it's all but impossible to ever lock yourself out of the car...
