I'd make sure your PCV system isn't contaminated from the too much oil issue. Also make sure you have the PCV-6 upgrade. Having too much oil in the crankcase will not allow the oil to return properly from the drain side of the turbocharger so it probably leaked past the seals. Make sure the oil level is correct at the dipstick - not overfilled at all. It may take some time for the oil to burn out of the intake system. You could have oil that's accumulated in the inter-cooler that will take some time to clean itself out. Your headgasket issue could be a simple retork of the headbolts or headbolt replacement/retork. Is it a SAAB Linear that you have? If so, it's a Garrett turbocharger (GT-17??). There are several sources for a new or rebuilt turbo. A good rebuild should last as long as a new one. They generally replace the "center section and seals" and precisely balance it. Just don't jump too quick on replacing the turbocharger. Take your car on a fairly aggressive 100 mile or so run and see if the smoking starts to reduce. I guess it would be interesting to know how the Dealer came to the conclusion the turbo is bad? Looking at the intake system in your case would not prove the turbo has actually failed. They would probably have to check the bearing for excessive play to be sure. I've seen some pretty worn turbochargers that don't leak oil.
