Oil leaking from turbo....

I've got a 2000 9-5 2.3lpt w/104K on it. Turbo was replaced once around 50K miles. Car's been loosing some oil (quart every 5k or so), and shop has diagnosed that the turbo is where it appears to be leaking from. They recommend just waiting until the turbo craps out. Will the leaking oil hasten' the demise of the turbo, or if I keep enough oil in the vehicle, will the turbo live a normal life? Thanks much!!
