Ok just picked this car up cheap beacuse keeps setting missfire codes. Figured I could use it for parts, if not able to fix it. Big into 4 cylinder car's. We have 7 4cyl 9-5's in the family. Anyway.... Hope someone can help kinda pulling my hair out here. Own my own Tech 2 so that helps. Usually sets a P0305 and sometimes P0300. Missfire counter shows #5 skips the most, and cylinders 1 and 3 seem to skip more than the evens. But really hard to tell. Pretty much a dead skip at idle. Give it some gas and is smoothes right out. Put it in gear no more misses or very very few. Drives down the road and doesn't miss at all. What has been done? I have swaped coils front to back with no change, has new plugs, checked compression has 180 psi in all holes. I have performed a professional injector cleaner, pump off: return blocked: only runs on cleaner. And I have also done a de-carbon procedure. Still come up with nothing. Has anyone ran accross something like this? Any ideas? Pulling my hair out here.... I am missing something here. I am about to dig deep! Motor sounds noisey when raced up??? Not really sure if this is normal or not. Like I said I know the 4's not the 6. But don't want to invest money into a lost cause... Bad valve? Had good compression though? Do you think a bad crank sensor?? Any advice appreciated! Thanks Mike
