well, if the guy was a complete idiot it is possible for him to destroy your tranny, but good luck proving it! I say it could be possible for someone to do tranny damage if he used a Impact or a large breaker bar to remove and install the axle nut with the car in the air in park. I always put the tire back on after I remove the Nut cover, lower the car to the ground and then remove the axle nut, so no force is put to the tranny. I know several guys who use a impact to remove this nut with the car in park and in the air and never had problems but it could be possible! I would think if he used a large breaker bar and the car inpark it would be more possible though. I would ask for the proceedure they use and go from their.
