A couple summers ago I think it was I was driving the local main drag (2 lanes each way). I'm in the left lane (passing, not sitting) and see an old Volvo with its left blinker on a few cars ahead of me. So the people in front of me start slowing down, there is space in front of me though, and the front of the car to my right probably had it's front bumper next to the back edge of my back door. So I signal, give it some gas to get ahead of the guy to my right, and glide over to his lane. I had plenty of room to do this safely AND I signaled (I will admit it was tight, but I didn't put anyone at risk). The guy behind me in his Mazda Protege clown car leans on it and starts flipping out. He followed me about two miles to Walmart where he followed me into the parking lot through a back shortcut that I doubt anyone knew of and parks his car behind mine perpendicularly to block me in. I was 17 and was freaking the hell out, scared out of my mind. He rolls his window down and starts giving me the riot act about not using my signal and cutting him off and people are staring and he tried to screech his tires pulling away (fail) yelling "STOP DRIVING LIKE AN A$$-HOLE!!!" I was literally almost crying, and my legs felt like Jell-o as I walked into the store.
Theeen last summer on the same road up a ways I was traveling in the left lane again because I needed to make a left turn in about 1/4 mile. I had a car next to me to the right going the same speed as me, and a car behind me. This clown in a BMW 5-series all of a sudden pulls out of the Mobil station on the other side of the road, cutting across traffic going the opposite direction from me, and into my lane basically where my car is. I couldn't swerve to the right, or slam on the brakes because there were cars all around me so I LEAN ON IT (I am LIVID!!) and he had to stop in the oncoming lane right next to me as cars were coming toward him. I did give him a little bit of the finger out of pure reflex (which I do not make a habit of, I promise) as I went by him. So then I get to the light where I'm making my left turn and he comes barreling up behind me leaning out his window flipping me off yelling obscenities. I don't know about you, but if I were that driver and had just made a fool of myself like that almost causing an accident, I wouldn't be yelling at the driver you almost hit. I'd have my tail between my legs in a lane furthest away.... I didn't make any other gestures or acknowledge he was there though. So he followed my aggressively for a while and turned.
These are my only two memorable incidents. I am NOT an outrageously aggressive driver or a risk-taker. I've had my license for a about 3.5 years and have not been in one accident or gotten a ticket or even been pulled over (knocks on wood HARD). But it's fun to vent a bit and tell people about my encounters with interesting people. Glad you escaped yours safely!
