Many regard 2004-2005 as the best years since it has an updated front air dam and a factory modified PCV system which reduces the chance of sludge. This PCV system is different than the PCV #6 most people install in their 99-2003 9-5. However, 2004 is missing rear heated seats, weatherband button on the radio, and some people have claimed the leather surfaces are a bit cheaper. The upside is the dash is now a nice black instead of grey and the SID has updated font so it won't fail. 2005 aeros had a package which included heated seats and parking assist (also available on 2003-4). The GM radio and grille is 2006 onwards, when they refreshed the 9-5.
